 I was wondering if any member is using the above product by Executive Software? I have been as my trusted techie refrerred me to it as he uses it. At the time though I did my  defrag with windows "xp" program it took a lot of time to do even though I tended to it on a fairly regular basis.
I noticed a post by another person in another forum experiencing somewhat the same problem with their use of the program, a lot of fragments accumulating in a short period of time, but a lot faster defragging these than the windows "xp" defrag.
There was also a suggestion in the other forum to use Page Defrag from Sysinternals Freeware but it was noted that this program is listed as compatible with NT and 2000 only. Has any member any experience with this program??? Diskkeeper?? Thankyou

diskeeper is a good defrag program, very fast, but not necessarily the best.
IMO pefectdisk or O&O are better, pefect disk, lays out the files on the disk in a more logical manner and plus it strategically places startup files, so windows will boot up faster.
I use O&O tho because it lets you alphabetically order all your files (by folders) on your hardrive witch really speeds up disk operations, because all folder contents are next to each other on the hardrive-it just makes things alot more responsive (including boot up).
If you get diskeeper you won't be disapointed, but I would recommend perfectdisk or O&O over diskeeper.

    good luck.

I use Diskeeper Pro -and love it -unfortunately my only experience with defraggers lies with windows (blech) and Diskeeper (yay) ...I can't comment on any others...
I have heard others using O&O -but have no personal experience with it.
I don't think you'll do badly with Diskeeper -but I honestly cant comment on whether O&O or Diskeeper is better: I can say this: Diskeeper is WAY better than Windows defragger.

hi all, this is my first post here at mgeeks, and this looks like a great resource for probs. i am here today cause i am evaluating dkprov9 and like it so much better than the norton speeddisk that came in systemworks 2003. but there is one drive that just wont defrag well, no matter what i do in diskeeper, and i think i've done it all according to the interface and help files, even to the point of defragging over and over, which makes no difference. i was going to write executive support an email, but i much prefer getting help from real users like u all. here are the reports from diskeeper on the strange drive, which contains mostly my very big media files - that's what its used for. i am very sensitive about having my video files completely defragged, as they seem to perform better that way. thanks in advance for any suggestions!

If its an option copy everything to a different drive, and then format that drive then copy them back. That will insure a defragmented drive. Until you start moving stuff around again
