XP Pro, SP3, Current updates, Thinkpad T60p at 2 ghz. Me? I had decades of computer experience before my brain got scrambled.

Recently while working on a problem the screen blinked and something that was mostly off the screen, showing only a sliver on screen, popped into full view.

More recently I was putting my MagicJack window close to the edge of the screen when it jumped _completely_ off screen for some reason, and subsequent restarts put it back there, off screen (thank you MagicJack). Does anyone know what would purposely pull off screen stuff back onscreen like it did by accident? Desktop refresh doesn't do it.

    1. Make sure the window is active (you should have something showing down in the atatus bar)
    2. press Alt+ spacebar
    3. press M (for move)
    4. use the arrow keys to move the off the desktop window to the desktop
    5. Once you have it in position, press enter then you can deal with it like any normal window

    Thanks. That was weird.

It didn't do exactly what you said, but it got the job done. After doing the "M" I just barely touched the mouse and the thing jumped immediately back onto the desktop, just as it had jumped off before! Go figure. (Or should I say, "Knock on wood?")
