Divx videos not working after codec install?

Hi, I installed Divx 6.1.1 from official website and Xvid from the official website, but all the movies don't work. I tried using BSplayer, DivxPlayer and Windows Media player, but I only get normal sound with black screen. The movie runs, but it is all just black screen.
I've then used Gspot to check for missing codecs and it said it is all OK.
It all worked OK before the reinstall of windows XP professional SP2 a few days ago.
Video drivers are the newest ones available from the ATI website.

Someone please help?!

Major Geeks has an in house link for what i always use Codec Pack All In 1 after a reformat and everything works ok after.

 

The MultiMedia section here at MajorGeeks has a bunch of codec packs. Try the KLite Mega Pack (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/K-Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack_d5230.html) and maybe a different player... I recommend VLC (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/VLC_media_player_d4674.html) or GOMPlayer (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Gom_Player_d5595.html) and, lastly, Kantaris (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Kantaris_Media_Player_d5719.html NOTE: Kantaris Media Player requires .NET Framework 2.0 from Microsoft)... check 'em out, and let us know what happens... good luck!

Oh yeah- I like MPlayer too! (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/MPlayer_d5663.html). There's a bunch of other highly rated free players available, so if you don't like one of these (or they don't work), there's many more to choose from; same with the codec packs. KLite Mega is probably the most complete pack, that's why I recommended it.
