   Hi
   I just reformatted my computer to install Windows 2000 Professional. However, after about 10minutes of being freshly installed and downloading the service pack updates, I managed to get the dl.exe virus. I reformatted and reinstalled and the same thing happened.
   
   Is there a way I can prevent dl.exe from infecting my computer long enough to get antivirus downloaded etc. to stop it?

   Before connecting a PC to the internet, you should have it properly protected. This means that at a minimum you need to have the below installed before connecting:
   

   1. Antivirus
   2. Software Firewall
   3. realtime Antispyware blocking
   4. addition protection from tools like SpywareBlaster & Spybot
