dl.exe runs when I turn on the computer. I just wiped my C: drive, so I can only assume it got stuck on my D:, and I can't afford to lose that stuff. Please help. Here are my logs. Startup List is from a program called StartupList, by the person that made HiJackThis (I think). I'll post the HiJackThis log in my next post.

EDIT: It's not running anymore. But my computer still doesn't have access for the internet. (I plugged my cord back in, after restarting, got to google, and by the time I got there, my internet had died.) And, I used CounterSpy and it came up with nothing. I posted that other log because I found the WOW Compatability part a bit interesting, because ntdvm was what was running the dl.exe when it poped up before. Also, alot of my files are damaged on the backup harddrive, and I'm not sure why. But that can be delt with later. Thanks for your help in advance. Also, I couldn't run those online scans obviously because I don't have internet (I'm posting these on my other computer, and I'm transfering things back and forth via my Flash Drive (Launchpad.exe is the drive(U3)))

HiJackThis log file. Nothing interesting from my novice mind.

You need to follow the directions on the download pages for GetRunKey and ShowNew and then attach new logs. You are not getting complete logs. This is typically due to anyone of the below reasons:
    • all files were not extracted from the ZIP file
    • the .bat files were run from inside the ZIP file
    • you received one of the error messages mentioned on the download pages and did not fix it
    • an antivirus or antispyware program is blocking the .bat file from running (but you don't have any of these programs install which leads to the below).
Your appear to be missing loads of stuff that should normally be seen in a HijackThis log. What were you doing before coming here. Did you start fixing/deleting things on your own????

This PC is totally unprotected an could easily get infected within minutes of connecting it to the internet. You need to install the following immediately:
    • antivirus
    • antispyware
    • firewall

I ran both of those with no errors, I think the reason I'm not getting full logs is because I've already wiped C:\ and I think the error is contained within D:\. Because I have two harddrives. Also, I've noticed that dl.exe doesn't start anymore, but I still can't connect to the internet. Same symtom of dl.exe, so I can only assume it's still something wrong with that.

No! If you are not getting any errors, then it is because they have not been extracted from the ZIP file. I can tell from the logs themselves that they were not run properly.

As I stated before Iquestion what was being done on the PC before you came here and whether you had been deleting things on your own. You HJT log is totally non-standard for a new install and even for a PC that has been running for awhile.

I don't really know why it's not working. I've extracted just as it said to do in the tutorial. I guess it's not really worth trying to fix, alot of my files are corrupt for whatever reason. I guess I'll just backup the files that I absolutly need on DVD, and then wipe the D:\ and then rewipe the C:\ and reload windows, then I should be all set. Thanks for the help, but I think it's pretty much beyond repair.

Be careful what you backup! If you really had that many files infected, you could just be backing up infected files. And if the current installation is infected and because you have no protection software installed to even know that, you could make all of your work and reinstall be for nothing since the backup DVD (once inserted and files are copied from it) could just reinfect your new installation .
