DNS problem: unidentified network

My other laptop is not connecting to my tp-link router.. Here is the ipconfig/all information

Displays DNS server problem, cant connect to host microsoft.com

Hi darkvallena and welcome to MGs.

I would think the reason no one has answered you is the total lack of information except a laptop will not connect to a router. The ipconfig /all info for a working connection is a start but we need more information.

For the laptop that does not connect -
What manufacturer and model of laptop?
What OS are you running and is it up to date with patches from Microsoft?
Is this a new install with the router?
How are you connecting - wired or wireless? Can it connect the other way?
Was the laptop connecting before and stopped? Any error messages?
If wireless connection fails at home, can it connect in a different location?

 

Sorry, here is as much info as I can gather.

It is a Compaq laptop running Windows Vista Home edition (as I've been reading, alot of people have provlems with Wireless connection and Vista)

My router works fine on another laptop running Vista and on my iMac

Cannot connect at all to any wireless networks. It was working before but I fear I changed certain settings with the protocol which disabled it

 

Have you tried connecting by ethernet cable?

 

Yes, that works. Just not through wifi
