Do I Have 2 Hard Drives or not?

I've got a Sony Vaio desktop machine and I'm having a disk error problem (I've posted another thread about this).

Anyway, I opened the case to clean out the computer, verify IDE connections, etc. and I can only see a single hard drive. I have an open slot for another hard drive but here's my question.

I've always had a "C" drive and a "D" drive. I was under the impression that the were two different hard drives. Is it possible they are both part of my MAXTOR 80GB 4D080H4?

    I don't totally understand.

    Thanks.

They're two different partitions on the same HD. Every PC has them. The D drive is used to store data for PC recovery.

    ______________________________________________________
Any single HDD can be divided or partitioned into 4 Primary partitions
