Do Not Install Acrobat Reader

Fair Warning! DO NOT install Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 as Adobe has added a host of spyware. Shame!

 

Hmm, didn't see anything phoning home. Ran Spybot and Ad-aware and am using ZA. Don't see what you're talking about.

Can you tell us where this is coming from?

 

That's a serious accusation. Just what spyware does it install, and what is your source?

 

I don't want to install it simply because it's a 28MB download...versions 4 & 5 were about 5MB & 8MB respectively & did the job just fine, version 6 is much more of a resource hog...7 is likely worse. I found this website where you can download older versions of many programs...because newer isn't always better!

Its a bigger file because it comes with other plugins. There is no spyware or anything.

 

Tried searching a few locations for this infomration and I tend to agree with Halo.

There are these two tools http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4294 and http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4139 which appear to remove some .api plug-ins for Internet shopping - perhaps there is some tracking there?

 

Yeah but who knows, it could be spyware from something else. How do you know its from adobe?
