Do Not Want Onedrive Folder Option When Saving Office Document

System: New ASUS laptop Windows 11 23H2

Just reinstalled Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 which was purchased several years ago for an older laptop.

When I try to save an Office document – Word, Excel, PowerPoint – the first choice where to save the document is “Documents One Drive – Personal”. See the attached picture. I don’t want to see this option. Rather I want to be presented with a folder structure on my laptop so that I can choose to which local folder to save the document. Note that I have uninstalled OneDrive from the laptop.

Any thoughts about this?

 

you should see other locations which you can save the document to the actual hard drive instead of one drive

 

Click on File > Save As rather than File > Save. You should then see the other options. I'm pretty sure there is a way to remove that default OneDrive save location but long since removed OneDrive. I'll have a look around.

 

I'm using the Office 21 version and if I open any of the Office apps and open a file, or create a new file, the menu has More.. in addition to Save etc, and More.. has Options, and under Options there is a Save to Computer by default option where you can specify your preferred default.
