Yes on ghosts but I dont necassarily believe the pictures taken of them as in photography many many artifacts in the taking or developing can cause weirdness, double exposure for one.

ok as geeks we're logical people, I am a servant of reason myself :D. But, although we know these pics are someone's hobby with effects and editing, they look exciting, I enjoyed those creepy figures.

Truth, as with ESP I think the jury is still out. I'm inclined to look for fakery, as both subjects attact a large percentage of quacks who muddy the waters and hide real information.

    I'll just wait and see.

I don't not believe in ghosts, if that makes sense,

I believe in ghosts. Don't need pictures to believe in them just an open mind and a crazy unexplainable experience.

I believe the existance of ghosts is certainly within the realm of possibility, having had a few unexplainable events happen to me over the years, like padams. I usually reserve judgement on photos for the exact reasons Halo mentioned. Since I believe in some form of after-life, the idea of ghosts is certainly likely. Perhaps a soul confused by what has happened, or is somehow tied to this plane of existance by some grief or guilt - or love, for that matter.

My brother used to joke that when he died, he'd probably be a ghost, since he felt he wasn't good enough for heaven, nor bad enough for hell . . . lol. I've not seen his shade wondering about as yet, so I don't know.

    (I'm pretty sure that Geeks go straight to Heaven . . . :) )

I believe some sightings (and photos) can be explained by what I call "environmental playback" (I don't think I coined the phrase, and I am sure there are other names for the theory). In essence, some believe that in certain areas of the planet magnetic fields, weather, and geology can interact and "record" an event - such as someone walking through a room, or standing in a graveyard, etc. When conditions are right, this "recording" can play back, and witnesses take this as a manifestation of a ghost.

Interesting subject to think about, overall.

Yes i believe. I have went on countless "ghost hunts" and have seen far to many things that cant be explained. For example reading 7.82 DC volts (not millivolts mind you) on two different volt meters while there leads were not contacting any thing. The old house i lived was haunted, the "spirit" or what ever you whould like to call it apparently hated computers. Our computers regularly "screamed" and shut off. What could only be described as a high pitched scream coming from any speakers attached to it. This alown can be explained by simple hardware failure and the like but to have it come from the PC speaker as well as from the sound card can not be explained nor can you simply brush aside the fact that it happened on all 6 computers we had at the house not 15 minuets appart from one another. True most of this "ghost" business lies in the imagination but i assure you that the basis is well rooted in fact. I simply beleve it is a topic that has gone unexplored (scientifically).

I don't disbelieve in them myself. When you really think about it, one of those pesky physics laws we learned back in high school said that energy can not be created or destroyed. That being said, I submit that an EEG or Electroencephalogram (Brain waves) reads the energy of the brain, the software in our biological hardware if you will, which is energy. Since we have a working theory stating that energy can not be destroyed, it has to go somewhere after the hardware gives out. I figure it goes one of 2 ways, wither t goes back to the energy source it derived from (also covering reincarnation here) or, for some unknown reason, that enrgy has a problem making it back there right away and lingers around on our plane a bit, causing what is comonly referred to as hauntings.

Just my humble opinion here, but it seems to make sense

Yes it can or we wouldnt be here we use it knowing it is fundementaly wrong because it fits our physical world the small 5% or so of visible matter in the universe,as scientists are now figuring out in the quantum world matter and energy is popping in and out of existence and appearing in mulitple places simultaneously
