Do you know what you pay in gas taxes?

    Briefly they were talking about lowering the gas tax to give consumers a break but instead opted to raise (to give themselves a break)

    We've just had a stay of execution to a raise on our tax for petrol, due to mounting pressures, local govermemnt workers did have a 2 day strike last week in protest at low payrise in amidst of the higher prices due to fuel costs. Sadly many say thats not enough to stave off a looming recession.

    Fuel Price + Fuel Duty + Tax

    This is what we here in Ontario pay.

    I know in Prince Edward Island their gas prices are provincially regulated, and they cannot increase more than 10 cents at a time, and they can only have 1 increase a month. All the gas stations in the province can also only be different by 0.1 of a cent. Now that to me makes sense!
