Good day geeks, running XP Home SP3
Cool Edit Pro has been a solid program for years and I prefer it to anything newer. Recently I've made a few changes to dics buring apps that have required the installation of K-Lite (full), and K-lite required the uninstall of a couple of codecs that I had installed because they duplicated K-Lite functionality. For example, I had ffdshow installed but that is part of K-lite, so I still have it.
Prior to this, Cool Edit worked fine, now when I open a .mp3 file all I get is static. I'm pretty sure its just a missing codec but not at all sure which one. I've have reinstalled the LAME mp3 encoder but did not fix the problem. Maybe I just need to configure the ffdshow again? But the audio configure panel says that the mp3 filter is madlib and enabled.

Do you guys have nay other ideas how to get my sound back in Cool Edit?
