Documate 510 driver installation

My Documate 510 scanner says it is missing a driver. In downloading and trying to install the recommended driver, I get an error message "encountered unexpected problem," error is 2753 and installation aborts. what's the problem and remedy?

What OS are you running?
Try this

In Windows Vista or 7 in the search box type "cmd" without the quotes. Right click and select "Run as Administrator"

In XP ,in an admin account. select Start>Run and in the box type "cmd" without the quotes.

In the Window

Type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" > enter No quotes
Reboot and see if you can install.

 

Download and install Vuescan. http://www.majorgeeks.com/VueScan_d6052.html The trial version will let you try it out. If Vuescan operates the scanner then you know it's not a hardware issue and you can rule that out. If you can't get Vuescan to work the scanner then you may have a hardware issue rather than a driver issue. To eliminate any USB issues make sure you try different cords, and that you unplug any USB items that you don't actually need at that time. I had an issue with an external DVD burner being plugged in didn't allow the scanner to finalize the scan.
