hi, i have a dual core desktop with a 500gb hard drive. Now because of more data i want to add a second 2 TB sata hard drive. i am just concerned whether adding another drive will reduce the speed of my PC?...

You'll be just fine. Make sure your drive has already been partitioned into 500GB chunks as your chipset may not recognize the full 2TB. Just install it.
