Does anyone have an opinion on Avorax Antispyware?

    I just started using this for older win9x machines, or when MS Antispyware gets corrupted. It says it is removing items, but it is so quick, I am not sure whether it is snakeoil or not. I have found that Avorax shield gets good reviews, but am not sure about the antispyware. Thanks to all. By the by, this MG is one of the best sites on the Inet, using it as my homepage at work. Good job to the whole community!

    MS Antispyware does not run on Win 9x platforms so I'm not sure what you are saying. By the way it is now Microsoft Windows Defender since yesterday. They replaced MS AS with the tool that was part of Vista. MS AS is no more.

    I was referring to the fact that MS doesn't run on 98, or if MS AS gets corrupted in xp/2k. Avorax looked like a possible alternative in the above situations, if that clears up my original post.

    Yes and no! If MS AS is corrupted, why not just uninstall it and reinstall.

    As far as Avorax goes, it may be a reasonable program but I doubt it is that good. You are only about the second person I have seen even mention trying it.
