Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I've got a question that I just cannot seem to answer on my own. I was wondering if anyone here knows if there is some sort of microchip that be scanned somehow, then be tracked, and somehow be able transmit how far away it is from it's sensor? And, if so, what would this chip be called? I only need the chip to be transmittable for upto 500 yards or so. Thanks for your help guys.

yeah i think so. ive been checking out RFID's but i dont know if they have the range im looking for or if they can do all those thing. because like i said, i need each chip to have it's own ID and be able to be scanned somehow and then i need to be able to have it tracked and have the distance measured. im involved in this think tank for my company, and we've been kicking around this idea and it involves some sort of chip with these capabilities, but unfortunately neither myself nor anyone in my team are chip-savvy.
