Does anyone know how to fix ps2s?

Because mine just stopped working after I got my ps3 -_- and I had got the ps2 2 months before my ps3 and it was just collecting dust on my desk. after a while I tried hooking it up and it wouldn't even spin any discs it would just turn on after a while I left it like that came back and it started spinning them again.

So I left it alone until like 3 months ago and when I tried to use it it loads the games but it freezes at the screen with all the cubes and some times it doesn't even load that up but it sounds like its trying to go straight to loading the game.

Turns off some times when it tries to load a game. makes this ticking sound that makes the audio tick as well -_- I don't know whats wrong I blew the dust out of it I just can't figure out. it plays 1 game I tried but it freezes at certain points and it loads up another game but its getting annoying because my ps3 broke -__-. any one have any ideas I tried going on the main playstation site and someone told me the most obvious thing to do that I don't think its the problem. I also forgot when the lens moves up and down when its trying to read the game it has to go back to the top when you open the tray right? and not stay down where the disc is?
