Does it matter what kind of router I get if I want to connect with ethernet cords?

I see at walmart some pretty cheap routers for like 55$ but its just the basic and it says up to 300Mbps with 802.11n technology

But i don't want to go wireless since my internet is super slow only 1.5mpbs constantly according to speedtest.net ... So i already have a 50foot Ethernet cord so i figured i can just connect both of my computers to the back of the router using the extra ports that are in the back of the router ... So will this cheap router work for this?

In other words can i connect both my computers with this type of router while still maintaining my slow 1.5mpbs connection?

Also i see another cheaper router for around 45 but only 150Mbps with 802.11n technology... Will this 1 also work?

So what your saying is that if i do use the wireless it should maintain the speed?
