Does My Computer Have Enough Guts ?

Back when windows 8 first came out my fiancee bought it for me since the price was rather cheap... Now that 8.1 is out I want to use it as I've used windows 8 in the past but for some reason my computer kept hitting a few slowness issues which made me wonder if my computer had the guts to run windows 8 pro 64bit.... please let me know as I thought it did but have been second guessing so I bumped myself back to windows 7.

Storage:
1.8GB

Motherboard:
Hewlett-Packard 2820h

the one thing that makes me some what confused is the motherboard aspect of things as it hasn't had any new drivers since I think 7.

Sadly my fiancee and I are rather annoyed that we feel we bought 8 and can't use it. Or is there something I'm over looking and we can run it ?

I always thought I knew a few things about computers but sadly over the last few months I wondered if that was true or not.

Then yes, it should run 8.1 fine, assuming you don't run into driver issues. Thats mostly going to revolve around video anyway, if it does show up. A lot of Windows 7 drivers work for 8/8.1.

 

Adrynalyne - WOW your fast... just as I closed out my browser I thought... shit I scrweed up on the storage I meant TB not GB...

as for video card... I have a Radeon 6450 HD
there are windows 8.1 drivers for it I have looked into it.

 

As long as you can find drivers for the video card (and you did, check audio and network for good measure), I would say make the jump. Windows 8.1 is easier on resources and works wherever Windows 7 does (barring driver issues of course).

 

everything has updated drivers for it, and already took your advice and made the jump to 8... just gotta get 8.1
Too bad MS hasn't released the ISO for it, to make my life a little easier.
