If I play a game on the internet, does it put me at risk of being infected by spyware or viruses?

That is sort of an open ended question. A simplistic answer is that you are at risk anytime you are on the internet. Playing online games can compound things. What games, whose site? Is this the type of game where you are connecting to a server to play games against other people? Is your PC well protected (it was not after you uninstalled McAfee in your other thread).
