Domain Ownership/Transfer

    Good Day All -
    Probably a stupid question, but is there a place to go, not a reseller, to procure a web domain name?
    A friends small business bought a domain through a "Computer Consultant". The consultant apparently owns the Domain...they pay him, he pays whomever. The CC has now disappeared and has left the business. The sm. bus. now feels they will lose their domain. Anything they can do???

    They could perform a WHOIS on the domain (www.example.com), and find out which company it is registered under, contact them, and renew!
