Have had what i'm guessing is malware problems...

Problems started with fake virus scan pop-ups and random re-directions from google.

Then began getting blue screen (before login screen) with 0x0000007e (0xc000005, and three other lots of numbers that usually varied) in both normal and safe mode.

A friend suggested I run memtest which found no errors and chkdsk /r which found more than one and repaired.

Did a recovery re-installation of XP and got computer running again.

Began to get constant message: ntdevice.exe has encountered a problem.
and whenever i pressed "dont send" or "send" explorer, mozzilla and SAS would come up with a encountered error message.

Google redirections continued and whenever i enetered a website with out the "www"s would get site redirection.

Recieved hh.exe application errors and once a vVx1000.exe encountered error message.

Managed to download updated java(removed old updates) and the cleaning programs by ignoring the ntdevice.exe messages.

SAS froze during first try but completed it in safe mode.

Didnt have too much trouble running the other cleaning programs except RootRepeal froze on initializing message and hence no log for it attached.

Havnt used computer to much but havnt had problems writing this post
(although I am in safe mode)

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Sounds like you may be having a bunch of remaining Windows problems, but let's finish your cleanup and see what happens. Obviously the "recovery reinstallation" you said you did was rather ineffective or it was infected itself considering all the malware seen in your logs that was removed by the cleaning procedure.

You need to uninstall your very outdated Firefox and download and install the current version. The older version is a security risk.
You also need to update Windows XP to SP3 when we are finished.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win 7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:50370
    R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn0\yt.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: Yahoo! IE Services Button - {5BAB4B5B-68BC-4B02-94D6-2FC0DE4A7897} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Common\yiesrvc.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: ST - {9394EDE7-C8B5-483E-8773-474BF36AF6E4} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\ST\01.03.0000.1005\en-xu\stmain.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: MSNToolBandBHO - {BDBD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.5000.1021\en-us\msntb.dll (file missing)
    O3 - Toolbar: MSN - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.5000.1021\en-us\msntb.dll (file missing)
    O3 - Toolbar: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn0\yt.dll (file missing)
    O9 - Extra button: Yahoo! Services - {5BAB4B5B-68BC-4B02-94D6-2FC0DE4A7897} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Common\yiesrvc.dll (file missing)
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it has expired or need to be updated to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run Ccleaner. Only use the Run Cleaner button. Do not run anything else on any other forms.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
Do you have any disk emulation software running? If so, did you complete step 6 of the READ & RUN ME?

Not sure if I'm running any disk emulator software as to tell you the truth I cant say i know what it is, however I did follow step 6 and disabled it.

My computer seems to be running way better now. Haven't got any webpage re-directions or the ntdevice.exe, hh.exe or vVx1000.exe error messages.

However my ms explorer is still not staring up (en-counted error message that i forgot to mention that i began to get after running mbam) but i'mm not overly concerned about it unless I should be?

I updated firefox, hope that's the same effect as uninstalling and reinstalling? I was planning on installing the new first then uninstalling old in case something went wrong and i'd be stuck with no internet windows to use.

I've attached the logs you have requested.

    Thanks heaps for your help.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean Windows Explorer ( explorer.exe ) or did you mean Internet Explorer ( iexplore.exe )? I guessing you mean Internet Explorer because if it was Windows Explorer, you would not have any Desktop showing.

What is the exact word for word error message? This may be something you will need to fix in the Software Forum.

No it is actually not the same; however if things are working okay now, don't worry about it. But in the future, it would be best to follow instructions as written. You could have just downloaded the installed for Firefox before ununinstalling the old version. ;)
