Don't exactly know what I have; my WinXP shuts down on its own.

Hello:

For about 10 days now I have been trying to fix my computer but nothing seems to work. My computer shuts down on its own upon reboot in my regular profile. Sometimes if I am lucky I can use my computer from other profile but other than that it is ruined becase normally I cannot use it except when I am in Safe Mode.

When in my main profile it always seems to shutdown after about two minutes because my Avast, SygateFirewall, and sound configuration icon loads up in the taskbar, error message pops up ("system has just recovered from a serious error") I click "Don't Send" after that HardDisk LED is still on...then it shuts down.


I had "Trojan.Pakes and Trojan.Dialer.pz" I managed to get rid of those 10 days ago. I have scanned my computer many times using various programs: Spybot Search and Destroy, Ewido, Ad Aware SE, TrojanHunter, VundoFix, Look2Me Destroyer PandaScanner.

1) Upon starting the computer from my dad's profile I get 5 error messages in a row "system has recovered from a serious error,"

2) "Windows Update" won't run as soon as I try to computer just shuts down.

3) I cannot access my Windows Firewall.

an error message appears:

"Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings."

I ran memory test for about 25 minutes, it haven't found anything wrong. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you

There is nothing in your log, that would lead me to believe that this is malware related.

You still have parts of Norton on your system. This could be part of your problem. You may have corrupt drivers, so forth and so on.
