I had to re-install Windows 7 on my laptop but now I no longer have MS Works. Unfortunately I have a database in that format that I need to open TODAY and nobody sells Works anymore. Does anybody know how I might convert this or read it in another program?

    Hi

Sadly the .wdb format that Works uses and never understood why they have weird formatted files in Works, but only way is to have someone you know with works open it up and convert it to CSV format so that you could use MS Access or Open Office Base, to import into.

Or try this converter on a backup copy of your database file (never us the original) http://www.codealchemists.com/worksdatabaseconverter/index.html it converts to CSV and then you should be able to import into Open Offices Base (which is a Access database clone)

Open Office for Windows (its free) and some steps to try and get it converted and open in Open Office HERE

Tried to see if any trial versions wheres still available for you or a converter HERE (the demos are just videos sadly)

Some retailers or online ones still have them listed HERE on amazon but I know you need this today, but just posting a possible option for later.
