Oooooooh :) The thought makes me wobble with exitement, lol. Maybe that's just the magnet, lol.

Interestingly, given the power of that you should theoretically be able to hear it around the world using a radio reciever when it's powered up if you knew the frequency. You'd get a blip as they hit the power button.

Kindof exciting and sad and the same time, because were doing something to research the universe and because of how little we'll know in my lifetime

When the particles hit they'll have the same energy as a bug hitting your windscreen, enormous considering the size of the particles:)

EDIT if the particles were the same size as a grain of sand it would be the size of a small nuclear explosion

They can also be used for refining uranium for use in nuclear weapons

LOL it's because you typed M .(A.S.S). Swearfilter has been kicking up about m*** and p***words recently. And it doesn't like grapes either.

Now I ask you this. Why on EARTH would you use a particle accelerator that big to refine uranium when a much smaller one would not only do the job better but faster and cheaper too?

I'll looking forward to some unexpected results. That's when it gets interesting, and the older farts start frantically trying to cover their mess on a tile floor like some cats I've seen.

A link to gravity would be nice. Yes, I remember the link about rotating supermagnets and reduced gravity, but it's dubious at best.
