Don't see any of the links in the Read/Run Me First sticky

I'm working on cleaning up a friend's laptop which seems to have some malware on it. I started reading through the latest Read/Run me sticky in the Malware Forum here, but I don't see any of the links. For example, at step 7 where there are links for the cleanup instructions for the various versions of Windows, I see everything up to and including the colons, but nothing following them.

I was using the latest version of the Firefox browser (ver 3.6.4) which I just installed today. So I switched over to IE and now I see the links here in the forum fine so I'll continue the cleanup of my friend's computer using IE.

But in the meantime, since Firefox (referred to as "Ff" from here on) is my preferred browser, I'd like to fix whatever setting or error is causing links in this forum not to appear. When I first tried to upgrade my older version of Firefox with the newer version today I couldn't get Ff to open after running the upgrade -- no error message, it just wouldn't start. (I had downloaded the "upgrade patch" for the latest version and so did an "on top of" install of the update file to my older version of Ff.)

Used the Task Manager in case Ff was still running but it wasn't. So I uninstalled Ff and then downloaded and installed the complete new version of FF and I thought it seemed fine while surfing several sites, but then noticed the missing links when I came here to MG. Took a look through my Ff settings but didn't see anything there that looked likely to fix it.

Doesn't seem to be happening on other sites I've visited since upgrading Ff -- so far at least, this "invisible link" problem is occurring only when I visit MG. Maybe something going on between the newest version of Ff and the Forum software used here (and on many other sites)?

Any ideas about what's at the bottom of my missing links? Thanks for any suggestions.

Turn off your dumb ad blocker or use a better browser like IE as you have noticed. ;) Otherwise add forums.majorgeeks.com to your safe list in Adblocker.

There have been at least a half dozen or more links about this posted in the last month or so in the Software Forum and Lounge.;)
