I badly need a dos machine. I have a Leading Edge Model 27 and it boots to a floppy but it won't recogize the hardrive. HD is a Quantum Fireball 1.6 gig.
The user in cmos is set up for 3128 cyl, 16 hds, 63 sectors,1539. I can't change the size and I don't know if it is right. Maxtor says the other info is correct tho! What can I do to make this computer recognize the hard drive.?

You should be able to Clear the CMOS on the motherboard by pulling the battery, and there should also be a jumper to reset it. Can you go in and set the IDE to be "Auto" if possible? Also check the jumpers on the hard drive to make sure it is set for "Master".

Other then that, that is all it should take to get it working. I found this "Unofficial" page for Leading Edge Computers set up by someone http://www.rainbowdatainc.com/files.html

God, we are talking about a old machine if it is a Leading Edge. I do not even think that you can get user manuals any where for them anymore, unless Sams publications sells them.
