Double Quotes & BackSlash Problem

I'm using a mailing list program (PHPlist) to send messages to my users, but the hyperlinks in the messages don't point to URLs. They point to something like this:

    Code:
    Outbind://3-0000...many more #s here...7B4R34/"http://www.customerpassion.com\"
and the source code of the email message looks like this:
    Code:
    <a href=\"http://www.customerpassion.com\">Customer Passion LLC</a>
You'll notice that there are backslashes ( \ ) inserted before the double-quotes. That's what's causing the crummy hyperlink and Outbind, instead of a nice http://....

I can't figure out why it would be adding a \ before the " in my code.

I've done a little research, and it seems it might have something to do with MySQL, SQL, parsing, PHP, Python, etc. Since I don't know any of those things, I don't what's causing the problem.

I found a few links that discuss what happens with double-quotes and backslashes, not sure if any of these are related to what's going on.

Can anyone help me to figure out how to stop this?
