Is there a definitive way to tell if a download link is real or fake???

Considering that link looks like it's to a non-legit download of a DVD copy of a recent movie, I'd say there was a good to excellent chance that there's some malware traces close by.

Google, McAfee, Symantec, AVG, ... all have some kind of link/page-scanners, some are via their last scans the page/site, others are add-ons to your browser.

It's a topic that we don't like to see discussed on MG forums.

As satrow stated, the link you posted goes specifically to a download for Scream 4 which hasn't even been released yet in theaters. Whether it is an actual download doesn't matter...it's pirated and illegal.

Major Geeks stance is that if it's illegal, it's not acceptable to post here. Do not do so again, please.
