download redirects to Wordpro ?!?

Maybe this is simple --- I hope so ! My downloaded program when done downloading and after I press open redirects to wordpro ? Any Idea what is happening ?

Kevinbgood here -- Download opens to Wordpad --when I try to get the program to run from sourc I get this ---PSAPI.DLL files is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:ntAllocateVIrtualMemory . Say what -- Anybody got a translation for this ?

It must have WordPro associated with that file extension for the downloaded program.

In Windows Explorer, go to Tools, Folder Options, then File Types.

Anything in there that is WordPro, either delete or change the association. WordPro should have nothing associated with it.


For WordPad, try reinstalling it in Add/Remove, then Add/Remove Windows Components.

 

Or simply rightclicking the file, then select (from the menu), OPEN WITH, then CHOOSE PROGRAM.

Now, select the program you wish to open this file with, then select the box (near the bottom of the screen.) (from memory).

OR

RIght clicking the file, select properties, then select CHANGE, then select the program you wish to open this file type with.!

Or there are a few registry tweaks that I could go into, but I won't, unless you really wish to know.

 

You should still go through file associations as WordPro might have other files associated with it.

It's a dictionary, so it shouldn't be associated with any.
