Download speed issue

    I am having an odd problem with download speed. Me and my roommate both downloaded the same file, from the same source, at the same time (actually, he started the d/l about 5 min after me). His download finished while mine was only at 40%. This isn't the first time this has happened. His computer has more RAM then mine (4 vs 2 gigs) and he has Vista, where as I have XP Pro.

    Any idea what could be slowing me down?

    Hi

    The possible is that your security software could be slowing you down, so what security software do you and your friend have installed?

    Are you both on same internet service? just asking as some can use 3G mobile net over an ISPs DSL or Cable.
