or just start pulling/ swapping ram one stick at a time.
How much ram do you have... how many sticks.... what does your system report it as?

    Absolutely not perfect

never heard of troubleshooting? options before a new hard drive is purchased are....

    1. Do all downloads end up corrupt, not just large ones but small ones?
    2. What interent connection do you have, is it ok or do you get disconnected alot?
    3. Where are you downloading it too on your PC, when it asks you for a location to save, dont save it to desktop or My Docs... create a new folder ( call it downloads ) and save to there.
    4. Is the PC running fine other than this problem? could run chkdsk /r to check the HD out for errors, also the manufacturer of your HD will have disk checking tools.
    5. Are you using a Mass Downloader app or Download Manager, if so dont and try again.
    6. Clear temp folders out, especially after a new build and install of many new applications... CCLeaner is good for this.
    7. If you have a firewall installed, disable and try again.

I am not going to get a new hard drive. The ram is what errors

1.) Yes small downloads mess up
2.) I have a 8 meg comcast connection and it works on other comptuers in the house
3.) I have downloaded it to both places and it shouldn't matter if i downlaod it to my desktop but i do use a folder called downloads
4.)As far as i know it is running fine
    5.) No mass downloader running
6.)Its a new computer so tehre aren't a lot of temp files
7.) i have tryed disabling the fire wall

If it is new and under warrenty, get them to replace the ram .... I'm real confident that is the problem ..... if you have another stick that is compatable with your mobo, use it as a test ..... see if your downloads start working ..... I went thru this, thinking it was virus/spyware.... three or four days before I started pulling ram .... one bad cluster/stick. All was well after replacing.
