Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

What kind of error are you getting with YouTube Downloader? You might check out the F.A.Q. at the BienneSoft site.

I don't think he's getting any error messages, just that the YouTube Downloader isn't compatible I guess with other websites? Would there be another simple program to use?

For example... if he's using "StumbleUpon" and comes across a video, on a random website (not YouTube), that he'd like to save to the computer (like say for example, a funny clip), how would he go about saving the video? Is there any easy way to do it, or not do-able?

    Thanks!

You can try Save2PC. It's free, and is easy to use, and it works on every sites I've tried it with.... other programs that might work for you:
http://majorgeeks.com/Fresh_Video_Downloader_d6572.html (works great with YouTube and the 2 or 3 other sites I've tried it with)
http://majorgeeks.com/Google_Video_Player_d4654.html (never used it - don't know if it saves videos)
http://majorgeeks.com/SpeedBit_Video_Accelerator_d6160.html (includes a video downloader; again- I haven't personally used this)
http://majorgeeks.com/VideoCacheView_d5814.html (works best with Internet Explorer and Firefox)
http://majorgeeks.com/YouTube_MP3_Downloader_d6653.html (also supports video downloading; should work with other sites besides YouTube; I've used it with YouTube and it works fine there)

If you use Firefox or PaleMoon, there's a plug-in called Download Helper that I have found works on every video I have ever tried to download from the web. Give it a shot!

(every program listed above is free! some may include a toolbar that is easy to opt out of installing if you pay attention during the installation process)

I usually pull them from the Cache folder. It is now located in the Documents and Settings/User Name (Your Windows User Account Name)/Local Settings/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/*******default/Cache. If you view them by file size they are easier to pick out. Cut or Copy and paste to alternate location. They have no file extension attached (.flv I believe) but VLC plays them without prompting. On the Linux box they are in Home/.mozilla/firefox/********.default/Cache. With both you have to enable viewing hidden files. On Windows it is done through Folder Options in the Control Panel.
