Downloading Video

Hello, can anybody tell me the best way to download videos from the internet, not just music clips or whatever on youtube, but things on Catch Up etc ?

And then putting it onto a disk to keep and watch on TV ?

Years ago I used Real Player, but it supposedly started carrying adware etc so haven't done it for a long time.

I used a thing called y2mate but it had some PUPs on it, which I've since got rid of. But it used a windows downloader.

There is a Chrome version too but Google is more restrictive about what sites you can download from. The FF version is also more stable so just better all around.

 

jdownloader.org does a lot of sites either use the pages' URL or sometimes you can click and copy the video's url.
