downloads suddenly really fast

I have an old computer (comparatively) and I noticed during the last two weeks or so my downloads started coming onto my computer really fast. There's not even time for the load bar to appear; they're done within less than a second. For me this is a big change, because I never used to get anything without the load bar so I'm wondering what changed.

My logic gives me several ideas, the first one being that the fast dsl finally got done and is working. The second one is that something changed or got corrected in my computer that was preventing a normal download speed before and that what I'm experiencing now is normal for other people. Third, that something changed and also that the programs I've been loading have all been miniscule. Fourth, that the load bar quit appearing and they are still loading at the same speed, but it appears they are done, because the FF window says they are done. It's not a case that some of them are slow, others requiring the load bar. All the ones coming in through FF changed, and they all changed at once.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Abri, I too thought the same thing too and pointed it out to my wife.. Are you using 2.0? The files are definately finished because i have looked(my own)somehow I think FF 2.0 is just more efficient. first time i downloaded @ 1,600 KB/s . I am dl'ing atlightning speeds 50 megs in about 25 to 30 seconds..and quicker!
