dr watson hates me

I have been having lots of problems. First of all, I can't open any folders on my desktop no matter what I try, so the files that they contain are trapped in them. Also whenever I attempt to do this my computer freezes for awhile then a dr.watson fatal error message comes up, then everything goes back to normal. I also can not open IE, which I don't regularly use anyways, but sometimes it's required. I get the same message from dr. watson. I also can not open "my computer" or "my documents" or "control panel". I was just going to save all my files and format my hard drive, but I am having difficulty saving folders, as I can't open them. Lots of my folders are also too large to put on a disk. I would like just to fix my computer's problems. I have XP and have downloaded and run all of the recommended spyware/antivirus programs. Whatever help I can get would be much appreciated! I'm having the same problems and I have tried everything. I have ran a bunch of different spyware and virus programs with no help. I have also removed the sp2 and dr watson file and I still have the problem. My computer operates in the safe mode. I was hoping that there is a fix to this problem
