I'm considering buying Dragon Naturally Speaking 11; however I can't seem to find much information on what the differences are between the standard and premium versions or what software (besides MS Office) it will work with. (Dragon's web site is vague about this and has no chart showing the differences between versions).

Aside from Word 2010, Outlook e-mails and searching the web, here's what I would like to use it for:

    * Posting on forums/BBs such as Major Geeks.

    * Dictating text and commands into WordPress 3 (I'm just getting started with it; the WordPress BB and forums don't have any info. about Dragon).

    * Possibly recording notes on either my cell phone (Samsung A877) or my Sony digital pocket recorder and having Dragon transcribe it to Word or Outlook.

Does anyone know if Dragon will work with WordPress 3? Aside from the speech-to-text built into Windows 7, are there better speech-to-text programs available?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been using DNS since version 7.
I am using version 10 to type this.
For comparisons between versions of DNS 11, have a look here:

I don't know what WordPress is. If it is a wordprocessor, I can tell you that DNS works with Open Office Writer.
not everything is working perfectly here, such as the lack of capital at the start of this sentence. I have fixed a couple of other errors as well.it works better in Word, which is where I use it most of the time.
if you want to record notes and have DragonDictate transcribe them later, you need to use a particular recording software/device-- I think you will find details of it on their website.
DragonDictate appears to have the best reputation among voice recognition software programs, but I have never used anything else, so I am unable to comment, other than to say it is very good (at least for my needs).
BTW, if you get it and find it won't work with a certain program, you have the option (at least in word processing) of dictating into Dragon Pad (a bit like Word Pad), and copying and pasting from there.

You can do it without, but it makes a fair few mistakes at first. If you spend about 5 minutes reading one of the texts provided to teach it, it goes better. It learns very quickly.

    Thanks for the tips.

I checked pricing and it turns out that Fry's (about 5 miles away) has Dragon 11 Premium on sale for $99.99, no rebate required. Since the sale ends today, I'll be heading over there in a few minutes.
