Drive Issue

Hi,

I am know this is a little vague and not really that detailed oriented. But I just recently reimaged my PC. I kept my old OS intacted on the hard drive and just went out and purchased another drive.
on the new image I am using Windows XP SP2. On the old drive I am using Windows XP SP1.
The issue that I am experiencing is the CD/DVD drives (2 of them) I have installed do not work on the new image. They may work once but then fail out on me when installing another CD. The system will just hang, and really can not do anything with a CD in there. Doesn't matter if it is a burned CD or a purchased one. I am also have issues with the printer. Sometimes it prints, sometimes it doesn't.
Now the hardware is fine (drives, printer) I switch between old and new image and do not have those problems on the old image.
Any though what it can be? or where to look? My motherboard is a GIGABYTE and besides Office 2003 on the new image, I have Sonix RecordNow Premier.

Okay, some confusing things here...

An image is a bit-by-bit exact copy of a disk to file. However, you're saying that your new image has SP2 and the drive has SP1?!?!?! Did you edit the image?

Or have you updated your new working installation of Windows?

Or have you performed a completely different operation altogether?

 

Sorry for the confusing lingo..

I did a new install of the operating system. I used a Windows XP cd with Service Pack 2. I did the install on a new hard drive. I then made the old hard drive which had Windows XP SP1 a slave drive (Just so I can copy files over). I am also using Windows XP Professional Edition, not Home Edition. All drivers are the newest ones that I went to the manufacture and downlaoded.
Has anyone had any issues with SP 2 and CD Drives?
