I used free active kill on my old internal 2 TB HD so I can use for storage on a new system. When I put it in it says I had to format. I selected NFTS but now it says I have only 99.9 mb of space on drive F and there is another drive G that has 233 of 931 GB (this one shows program files). Can I fix this? If so, how

Did you want to get rid of all of the information on the drive?

If you do, I'd recommend HDD Low Level Format tool. The freeware version will take quite a while to format a 2 TB drive but once done, you'll need to initialize and format the drive in Disk Management. You should then have the full 2 TB to work with.

Yes I want to wipe it. I made a typo it's a 1 tb drive not 2. When I use HDD Low Level Format, do I need to unplug any other drives?

My other problem is my 2 tb drive with backed up stuff. I don't see it when I open my comp on Win 7. When I open comp management and It is there and says it's healthy. Not sure how to fix this.

With HDD Low level format, a list of disks will show in a window. Select the one you want to wipe.

Your 2 TB drive may simply be offline. Go into Disk management, right click on it and select online.

I assigned it a new letter and it worked. I'll keep you posted if I run into any issues with the format. Thanks again for your help.

You're welcome. Just make sure to select the correct drive to wipe. Once it starts it's job, there'll be a progress bar. Wait 'till it reaches 100%. It's going to take some time.

Are there any specific steps to take when I initialize and format later?

No. Disk Management will tell you that you need to initialize the drive before you can use it and you can create a new simple volume afterward with quick format. Right click on the drive to select create new simple volume.
