Driver conflict?

Hi i installed a new external sound card tonight (sound blaster live 24-bit) ever since i have received a error message every time i open a hard drive.

I tried uninstalling the on board sound card but it re installs itself every time i reboot so i have just disabled it.

Also is the anything else i need to uninstall?

Is it a coincidence or is it related?

I tried uninstalling the on board sound card but it re installs itself every time i reboot so i have just disabled it. Why do you want the onboard sound card uninstalled? It will not effect the new sound drivers, the on board sound is for the "Beeps" and MS sounds you hear. The soundblaster is for music, movies . . . .etc

Also is the anything else i need to uninstall?

There might be conflicts between your new sound blaster and the old realtek one. Maybe you should completely remove the realtek drivers before trying your new one. The on board Legacy should be left alone in my opinion
