driver help

Like some other posts in the past, I have purchased a new pc (Compaq Presario CQ5600Y with AMD Athlon II 170u processer) and then downgraded the operating system. The machine came with Windows 7, but that is not compatible with software that I need for my business. I downgraded it to Windows XP, and manually installed SP3.

Unfortunately the Device Manager shows the following as unknown devices:
- Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus
- Other PCI Bridge Device
- SM Bus Controller
- Video Controller

The network card and the lack of access to the internet is my only real issue, as that stops me from downloading the updates I need.

Tried to follow several related links on other postings and none of them gave me the right download. HP also said they did not have the right drivers. Is it possible that the right drivers just do not exist for XP, and I have to install a different network card?

Looks like that model is using the M2N68-LA (Narra5) motherboard, so download and install this package - it contains the nForce 430 chipset and GeForce 6150LE video drivers. Make sure you reboot following the install.

Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent hours trying to figure this out myself last night. Downloaded to a thumb drive and installed - and now I have connectivity. Thank you very much.
