driver missing after micro. worked on comp

My windows was not updating so I called microsoft about the error message and they took control of my comp. Big mistake now my audio driver is missing.

We really need A LOT more info here. Please read this thread and try to include as much info as possible. Only then can we try to help.

 

I ran the Everest and it made a report but every time I push the manage attachments button it locks up my computer. The problem is my sound. I called Microsoft because my Windows would not update and it gave me an error. Microsoft agent took control of my comp. and had me uninstall and reinstall xp w/ service pack 2. after that no sound. Still cannot update.

 

Hmmm.. attaching a document should not lock up your computer. There's a real good chance that you have MUCH more serious problem than not having any sound. However, you can still provide the information requested w/o attaching an Everest report. How can we possibly do anything with information like this:

I wouldn't call a mechanic and say "my car doesn't work. It worked before I called the other auto shop, but now it won't work".
So, without some information, there is nothing I (or anyone else) can do. Maybe you should read this thread again. It suggests MUCH more than attaching an Everest report.
