Driver problem after XP install

I have an HP pavilion dv6000 model #dv6704nr. The comp. originally had Vista Hm but I installed XP home to see if the comp would perform better. I have service pk 3 installed. Everything is updated. I have run everest which produce this summary report(see attachment). I had pretty much settled up all the drivers except one (HPQ0007) and then thought i took care of that one when my Primary IDE Channel and secondary IDE channel driver reproduce themselves in my device manager. I can't figure out how to delete them and recover the unknown device of HPQ0007 (because at least then I only had a problem with one device and not 4.

Also with that said I have a blue screen that appears on system close. It is quick and very brief (it looks like it displays a problem with a program like rixdpstk.exe). The system starts up ok.

Does anyone know of a program that will identify drivers to device so I can isolate what is used and needed verses what can be safely deleted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if this will help but I found this link suggested to someone with similar problems to you.

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&product=1842155&dlc=en

The guy said be care not to download the BIOS drivers.

Please bare in mind I simply searched for solutions to your problems, I DO NOT know if these solutions will help OR WORK and take no resposibility. Use at YOUR OWN risk.

Just trying to help, good luck.

Have to be really careful that in just searching for a solution in that its exact solution as many searched on may not be exactly the issue and cause more problems.

The drivers for that 6000 series may work for the 6700 series, and the HPQ007 reference is the Ricoh 5in1 media card slot you have in the side of the laptop, so that driver is one you need, as you have downgraded from Vista to XP its not always the case that some drivers that work in other PCs work, its a bit of trial and error, but you would need definatly to install the Chipset Driver first as this is needed to allow other items to be recognised first, then install them as in media card reader and audio.

HOWEVER the drivers for the 6000 in chipset are not the same ones for your model PCs chipset so DO NOT INSTALL.

Left off UAA driver as I notice you have this installed already and was installed by SP3 by default.

NForce AR Chipset should be this one
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.24.html as your grahics card is the 7150go so goes with this nforce chipset which adds USB and network adapter drivers too.

    Audio

    Ricoh 5in 1 card reader
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...2-1&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3231998&os=228

Then reboot and then tell us what drivers are not found and have yellow ! marks in device manager. But in the end this could be a long process to get all hardware working as natively that PC does not have XP drivers.

I would have switched back to Vista but I'm not used to giving up and the computer runs like a greased racing lizard with xp. Thanks so much for taking the time to help and the reply.

I loaded all three drivers. The nvidia driver seemed to load OK although there don't seem to major changes between this one and the one I already had found. The audio driver would'nt load because it couldn't find the media device needed. Now it says the device is not loaded correctly-(code 1) location 65535(with an exclamation mark by it in device manager). The recoh loaded OK but no changes were noted. I not have an OHCI exclamation mark in device manager with a device cannot start - (code 10). I only have those two errors now showing.
