    Hi,

Is this a common problem whenever someone updates or gets a new motherboard does this mean that there will always be problems within the drivers and stuff??

    HI

At times the majority of drivers will be picked up by the OS on its install, however there will always be some drivers that are not as they need the Chipset driver to be installed first, this allows the other drivers to be installed correctly.

Common, yes always been this way, dont think I have ever built a new PC or installed the OS from scratch that didnt need some drivers installing, but if your PC or motherboard is from one of the major brands the drivers are easily found, if its a lesser known brand then dont loose the driver CD.

OSes are getting better, ok maybe not the OS but the driver databases that Microsoft has have gotten better since XP in Vista the driver base is much larger so odds are that you should get all of them ok, maybe Chipset, Graphics (finds these but a basic driver), Audio and some Media Card slots need manually updating, last time I installed an OS it found all bar, Media Card slot, built in webcam and while did find an nVidia GFX card driver it was basic one so an update from makers fixed that so not bad really.

When you get new motherboard a drivers CD will come with it, also as you will know the model and make of the motherboard, goto makers and double check for updates to drivers and also do they support the Windows version you're going to use, TBH I would download what they have before you add the new motherboard and burn to CD.

Have you built or upgraded a PC before, as in motherboard? If not always best to plan ahead and make sure all your current hardware will work with it, find out what others think of the motherboard, do they have tales of joy or dispair!

Upgrading the motherboard will not help the games run better. You'd need to upgrade the video card first. This is usually the most important factor with gaming. However, you could put a top-of-the-line video card in low-end motherboard with a low end CPU and not get any benefits from the video card. So you'd probably also need to upgrade RAM (memory), processor (CPU), and the motherboard. If you could tell us which games you're trying to play, and what you current hardware is, we can help point you in the right direction. Also, if you did upgrade the motherboard and then tried to boot into your old Windows, it will likely crash due to the new motherboard, and you'd have to (at the very least) perform a safe reload of Windows.
