driver update

any one here know if therse any programs out there that are FREE that can
scan your comp for drivers and detect if they need to be updated and that can actually update it for you thne be able to back up the drivers soo you can format and then come back and just whack all the drivers including the updated ones back in ??

i know you can do all that with driver magician but unfortunetly i dont have a credit card or anything to purchase it not only that im poor as

The answer, unfortunately is NO: There is no such program. The people who develop these programs and utilities and those run these "scanning-types" of websites know full well that they have the panicked and frantic 'driver-starved' users by the kahootskies and none of them are FREE. <g>

The closest thing I can think of is the site DriverAgent.com is site that provides an online scan that is FREE and relatively easy to use. After the ActiveX control that is required to run the DriverAgent scan is installed - and the brief initial SCAN ends - they provide a "webpage report" of the results. You can then click on the little ICONS at the beginning of each entry and get the names of the most relevant potential driver updates.

Helpful Hint: When you click on the tiny icons at the beginning of each entry; you should "right-click" and open a new webpage [instead of just clicking on the icon directly]. Opening a NEW webpage lets you return to the scanned "webpage report." If you click on the icon directly and do not open a New Page - the old page 'expires' when you go back to it. Just like the online banking and/or credit card sites - they do not "play nice" with the browser's BACK button...

Important Final Note: The SCAN is free...
They only charge you if you want Driver Agent to instantly provide all of the correct and current drivers that you need - for immediate download. They charge around 30 bucks one-year membership for the "instant downloads" and unlimited use for ALL your computers as well as a few other services, support, etc.

yeah ive been to driver agent but yeah u gotta pay for it to update ya drivers for you see this is why i wanted to know if there was anything that was free coz i wanna do it and know that the drivers are gonna be correct coz if i go do it my self i dont really know what im looking for or what the newest version of my drivers are and stuff like that
oh well thanx any way

lol yeah i know but the whole problem is the mother board has got like 50 diffrent names and i cant find wich one exactly mine is
