I recently acquired a used Fujitsu Lifebook P2110 notebook. The two USB ports as well as the CD-RW drive do not work. Nothing I place in them is recognised. The device manager shows all as yellow question marks. I have Windows XP and am unable to reinstall anything since the CD drive does not recognise the CDs. I also tried looking for drivers online, but no success. I would appreciate any assistance that you can offer.

    Many thanks

cd drive 's don't need drivers and windows should have a driver for the usb ports you can reinstall by booting from the cd and running install from there. ..But It sounds more like a resource conflict tho.. rclick on the device in the device manger > select properties and post the error code and any other details

Thank you so much for your response. There are four question marks - three for 'Other devices' and one for 'PCMCIA and Flash memory devices'.
The first three under properties show:
    1. Location: ALi PCI to ISA Bridge.
Status: The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28). To reinstall the drivers click Reinstall Driver.
2 (and 3, they are the same). Location: on Microsoft ACPI Compliant System
Status: The device is not configured correctly (Code 1). To reinstall the drivers click Reinstall Driver.

Under PCMCIA and Flash memory devices:
    4. Location: on Microsoft ACPI Compliant System
Status: The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28). To reinstall the drivers click Reinstall Driver.

I tried booting from the CD, but the notebook behaved as though there were no CD in the drive and booted normally. When I opened 'My Computer' no recognition of a CD in the drive was shown.
I am only a power user, not familiar with the various responses I posted above, so thank you for your patience.

looks like the driver is corrupt possible a hardware fault rclick on the device and select uninstall > reboot

if that don't work you will need to open the bios setup screen and set the 1st boot device
to the cd drive it that fails well then you most likely have a hardware issue

Thank you for this advice. I will seek out an expert to help me with the hardware issue.
