Drop down list not working

I have 2 EMachines and both of them have the same problem. When doing a search or data entry into a box windows stores the entry. The 2 EMachines do not. When you click on a search box you can see all of the previous entries entered into the box. I do have auto complete turned on and I have even endured a long precedure supplied from EMachines to remove windows IE and reinstall. The same problem appears again. Any ideas?

 

I also wanted to add an example of the problem. On Google, if I click on the search box, I can see all previous searches in a list. On the EMachines nothing happens when clicking on the box.
