drop down search box history not working

On my Emachines pc the search box / drop down list / history does not work. When you click on a search box You should get a list of everything you searched for. Well on my 2 Emachines it does not work. Like on a google search if you click on the empty box your search history drops down for you to click on a previous search.

I have turned on the auto complete thinking that would help and also turned on all cookies, nothing works. Other PC's work fine except the 2 EMachines. Emachine support online is worthless too. HELP?

It is set to the max already, 30 days. I have even ran the factory restore discs and the problem remains.
