    Greetings,

Recently, I would say about a week. I am having trouble seeing my dropdown menus.

The drop down menus I am having a hard time with are the ones I want to use while I am in the internet. I use firefox I believe the latest version. I am unable to see any of the file, edit, view, history, or other dropdown mene in my browser or say if I wanted to correct a misspelled word and wanted to use the dropdown menu to look for other word options this shows up like a light film. You can tell it is there but you are unable to see anything.

I can tell you that if I restart firefox it corrects its self but only for a few moments then they disappear once again until I restart it.

I have removed most add-ons, and cleaned cachet but no change.

    Any suggestions?

Are you using a theme? If so, which one?

Also, click on programs then Mozilla Firefox then Firefox (Safe Mode). This will run the browser with no addons and no theme. If the browser continues to work properly, then you know either the theme or one of your remaining addons is causing the problem with the menu.

I am having the same problem. I can operate for some time but eventually I lose all drop down menus. A blank box is there but no details are listed. I think the Free AVG free virus
toolbar may be causing it. I just removed it today & have not had the problem as of yet, but have not been operating long enough without it to tell for sure. It does work OK in Firefox (safe mode). It does occur with both theme & normal modes. I did not try normal without add ons.

Have been running Firefox on safe mode and all problems have been corrected. Thanks for the tip. I do not know however, what add-ons or themes are causing the problem. At this point I can live with out any of the add-ons or themes only things is I have no idea where to find these. Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks again!:)

Open your normal FF and click Tools then addons.
This brings up a box with tabs for addons, themes and plugins.
Start by disabling all but one addon. If FF works, the next day, enable another addon. Keep doing this until it acts up and you've probably discovered which addon is the problem. Of course, there might be more than one causing the problem. Uninstall any which cause a problem and your regular FF should then be working.
Do the same with themes. See which one you are currently using if the drop down menus are okay, that theme is not the problem. If the drop down menus go strange again, switch to a different theme (or even the defualt theme).
