    Good day!

My hdd stopped working after it fell off a shelf.

I tested the enclosure on another disk and it works. But when I use my disk, it's neither recognised nor does it show up in Device Manager. There's no clicking sound either.

I just want to be able to at least recover the important files on the drive so I'm really hoping someone can point me to the right direction. TIA!

When you plug the drive in to an enclosure, can you put your hand on the outside of the drive itself and feel if there are any vibrations? Do any enclosure lights come on when the drive is plugged into a computer? Does the computer show anything relating to the drive or enclosure or make the "plugged in" noise?

    Thanks for the reply, CollinsL!

The computer gives a ping indicating something has been connected. The enclosure's LED goes from green to red. I cannot feel any vibrations BUT I can hear a faint whir.

Is there a way I can make it run for just one last time?

Like a DIY on how to disassemble the hdd and such. Just time enough to retrieve some of the files, not even all of it.
